I pledge to not text and drive. I pledge to not fiddle with my radio while I drive. I pledge to not go on social media, play games, or take photos while I am behind the wheel. These pledges come from the bottom of my heart, because distracted driving has personally changed my life. This past summer, one of my dear friends was killed when a semi-truck driver plowed into the car he was in, killing him on impact. The police did not run alcohol or drug tests on the truck driver. They went to check his phone to see if he was texting, and gave up when they saw he had a passcode. My late friend’s family never got the justice deserved, so distracted driving is extremely close to my heart. The semi-truck driver had to be doing something distracting or else this incident would have never happened. I so wish it had never happened. I think about this special person every single day, and I never want anyone else to feel the way that I do when I think about him. So when I say it can wait, trust me
