I pledge to not be distracted by my phone while driving. I have seen first hand too many incidences that could have been prevented if people would put their phones down while driving.

After hearing the most touching story, from my professor Rachel Tso, I never want anyone to go through any pain, physical or emotional, because of driving distracted. People do not realize the dangers and responsibility that comes from driving. Our society is so dependant on driving, and it is an amazing resource that we have so easily available to us. But we cannot take this privilege lightly.
I am currently a 19 year old student at Northern Arizona University, from Chicago. I have never had my own car, and have found walking and public transportation to be extremely helpful without a car. A Subaru has been my dream car, and would help me immensely with school, work, and exploring beautiful Flagstaff. If I had the wonderful opportunity to receive this generous gift, I would make sure to utilize it in the safest and sustainable way possible. I pledge to never drive distracted, to keep myself, passengers, and everyone on and off the roads safe.
